College Health Insurance Tip
Most institutions mandate that all students have “major medical health insurance” and will add the fee for this insurance to the student’s bill. The costs for this insurance can range from a few hundred dollars to $2000.00+ per academic year.
If your son or daughter has private insurance covered by one or both parents, then they may waive the institutional insurance and save $$$ annually!
Schools have different processes and/or forms for waiving this insurance and it is the student’s (and/or parent’s) responsibility to ensure that it is waived by the deadline established by the school each and every academic year.
