Cynthia DeBerry Flowers, Principal Counselor/CEO

In 2008, Cynthia was tapped by the Young People’s Department (YPD) of her church to create and facilitate College Prep Workshops, which led to her receiving The Beverly Dixon Award for Extraordinary Service to Youth in 2013. She also received the “College Preparation Instructor of the Year” from the non-profit organization Elite Gentlemen Consortium, Inc. in 2017. From her initial call to service, Cynthia discovered that she possesses the passion and skill set that are the hallmarks of her success in the ever-growing field of college coaching and counseling.

Cynthia has also worked in IT for a Fortune 500 Company and in residential real estate for several years, during which she has received numerous awards and accolades for her efforts. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Spelman College and a master’s degree in Secondary Education from Mercer University.

While she works with and welcomes students of various backgrounds, she particularly desires to serve high-achieving, economically disadvantaged students and or first-generation students. Many of her students are admitted to some of the country’s finest higher education institutions. Many of these students have received unprecedented grant and or scholarship aid to attend the schools of their choice.

She is the proud mother of one child, Joshua, a 2013 graduate of Bowdoin College. Josh works as a National Client Group Underwriting Consultant for a major insurance company and resides in New England.
