While we agree with much of the advice that is shared in this article, at CollegeForSure we review ALL options for our students by adhering to a holistic approach to College Counseling which may include having them to consider “need-blind” institutions. A college is need-blind if it does not consider a family’s finances when deciding to admit a student.

For high achieving, low income students, “need-blind” schools are often the best options…the best fit which should NEVER be overlooked.
