Scholarship vs. Grant: What’s the difference?

Historically, most of our students have received greater scholarship/merit aid.  However, we know from experience that most people do not understand the difference between grant vs. scholarship aid, so as we begin to ramp up with the class of 2021, we wanted to share below.  This and other valuable FAQs may be found on our website.

Grants are funds disbursed by one party (Grant Maker), often a Government Agency, Corporation, Foundation or Trust, to a recipient, often a nonprofit entity or educational institution…most often based on financial need.  A Scholarship is an award of financial aid for a student to further education. Scholarships are awarded based on various criteria such as GPA, athletic ability, etc…regardless of financial need.
