The Dreaded “P” Word: Plagiarism

We recently received a call from a current CFS parent whose child had received in school suspension (ISS) for plagiarism.  While we wholeheartedly believe that this incident was unintentional, we thought that this was a good time to discuss the importance of citation and to provide some of the tools that are available for checking your work BEFORE it is turned into a high school teacher or college/graduate professor.

In addition, we want to make you aware that in the world of academia, especially collegiate and/or graduate academia, plagiarism can lead to a failing grade, long-term suspension and/or expulsion.  In addition, records of plagiarism can have permanent, negative consequences in seeking and/or maintaining employment.
